The new bigger, bright, and brand-new bi-level fitness center (Truax A1064) includes 5,400 square feet of fitness machines and free weights (on the first floor) topped by another 2,700 square-foot cardio deck. In all, the center offers 8,100 square feet, increased natural light, and a spacious, open atmosphere.
Who can use the facility?
- Employees can purchase a yearly fitness center membership that runs until June 30, 2023, for just $60 (Memberships automatically renew on July 1). Memberships can be purchased at the Fitness Center front desk (Truax A1064). Employees with health insurance can use wellness benefits to help with fees. Wellness programs are offered through Dean (Living Healthy Portal), GHC (Managewell 2.0), and Quartz (Quartz Well).
- Any student enrolled in at least one degree-credit class can use the facility, as student fees support operations. Non-degree students can purchase a student activity pass in Student Life (Truax B1260). The Student Activity Board (SAB) is currently exploring ways to support affordable access for non-degree students.
Where do I enter?
Present your OneCard to the front desk to gain access to the Fitness Center (Truax A1064). The facility is located down the hall from the H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium.

Facility Details
The facility, located on the Truax campus in A1064, includes:
- More than 40 total pieces of cardiovascular machines such as treadmills, bikes, rowers, ellipticals, stair climbers.
- Eight half-racks with Olympic barbells and bumper plates and several exercise options and accessories. Equipment will suit a wide range of fitness goals.
- More than 2,100 pounds of bumper plates and more than 1,500 pounds in other weight plates.
- Three functional trainer cable machines with the capacity to work any major muscle.
- Functional training area with Total Body Resistance Exercise (TRX) bands, medicine balls, kettlebells up to 50 pounds, and stability balls.
- 200 square feet of designated stretching space.
- Updated locker rooms for staff, student-athletes, and visiting teams with showers and daily-use lockers.
- An officials' meeting space.
- An athletic training room.
- New offices for athletics, recreation, and physical education, placing all associated staff in one office on the second floor.
- A large academic classroom.
- Large windows to take advantage of southern exposure and create a light-filled space.
